Who We Are
We believe that Jewish experiences should be relevant, joyous, soulful, and inviting. And that we can be your community, your family and your home.
We provide a space for Jewish locals and travelers to meet their religious, emotional, and spiritual needs, while also welcoming anyone to explore Jewish values and culture, fostering empathy and understanding across communities.
Rabbi Levi Teldon
A native New Yorker who moved to Texas as soon as he could, Rabbi Levi was ordained in 2008 and has been instrumental in adult education and program leadership for 14 years at the Chabad Center in San Antonio. Recognized for his adept fusion of creativity and humor, Rabbi Levi loves sharing Jewish videos and memes, often being featured in Jewish media and on influential social media platforms. When not doing Rabbi things, Levi can be found reading with a cup of coffee, graphic design, studying Torah, long road trips, and gluten free pizza. Follow his musings @alamorabbi.
Rochel Teldon
Rochel was born and raised right here in San Antonio. Her studies took her abroad to Canada and Israel, but her heart was deep in Texas where she eventually returned. Touching countless lives with her signature positivity and warmth, she served as Youth Director of the Chabad Center’s popular Camp Gan Israel, Hebrew School of the Arts, and JUDA afterschool for over 10 years. Rochel loves trying new recipes, meeting new people, being a mom, chocolate ice cream and summers on the beach or at the pool.
The Teldon Family
The Teldons co-founded YJSA (Young & Jewish San Antonio) in 2011, creating a vibrant community for Jewish adults in their 20s and 30s. Since then, they’ve engaged over 1,000 young adults and popularized the annual community Menorah lighting in collaboration with the Historic Pearl.
Having touched countless lives with their passion and dedication for over a decade and serving the community at the Chabad Center for Jewish Life & Learning, Rabbi Levi and Rochel are embarking on a new chapter, sharing their joy and passion for Jewish wisdom and heritage with so many who live and visit the heart of downtown San Antonio.
Rabbi Levi and Rochel are blessed with seven precious children, and one beloved coffee maker.
